Piloted by a game controller, fitted with camping shop lights -
and a ballast made from old construction pipes: The doomed
Titan sub 'red flags' as experts reveal all the key mistakes
before tragedy struck

. . .

OK, as surmised, this thing was a PIECE OF SHIT.

But yea, people SIGNED OFF on being passengers.

Were they "fully informed" ? Depends on what you
mean. MOST people just do NOT have an iota of
engineering acumen and that's the fact. That's
how it will always be. Hell, BOEING passengers ...

Live, or die, by that truth.

Planning an 'extreme adventure' - FIND OUT.
It's on YOU.

For the record ... the construction of the sub,
fiberglas/carbon construction, was a BAD IDEA.
The mere SHAPE of it was a BAD IDEA ... just
meant to hold more paying passengers. For THAT
depth the only proper shape is a SPHERE and
METAL, or at least THICK polycarbonate,
construction is HIGHLY preferred. Resin
composites "creep", "micro-fracture".

And so it DID ....

PLOOP !!!

There apparently WERE some comms that suggested
the crew KNEW they were at the point of destruction,
the structure failing. 15 seconds later .......

Polycarbonate compressive is borderline and unsatisfactory.
Many composite users do not realize that composite strength may be
anisotropic which means strength is directional. At the subs depth
composite shear strength could be exceeded.

I saw a video once making a crossbow limb from a composite and had one
of those bows that failed under shear. The company went caput.
