Turkish-backed forces sweep across Syria

Islamist rebels and armed groups backed by Ankara swept
across Syria this past week, seizing Aleppo and putting
President Bashar al-Assad’s soldiers to flight. Having
achieved a hard-won autonomy in the turmoil of the
Syrian Civil War, the country’s Kurds now find themselves
once again cornered between the Damascus regime, Islamist
insurgents and Turkish-backed troops eager to put an end
to Kurdish self-rule.

The Kurds never seem to get a break. Saddam
Hussein hated them, the Turks hate them, the
Islamists don't exactly love them ....

OTOH, Kurds still mutilate their girls, take
a razor to the clitty, so they'll supposedly
be less likely to stray, intended to leave 'em
kinda numb below the waist. Really kinda hard
to sympathize with a culture that does that.
What an evil mentality !

Old news. The Kurds control half the country, Bashar has fled to Russia, the
Russians have abandoned both their bases (air and naval), an assortment of
mostly Turkish backed rebels controls Damascus and the western half of the
country.

Try to keep up.
