A police officer is among four people who have been injured
following an alleged stabbing in Sydney's south.
Emergency services rushed to Old Bush Road, near the Princess
Highway, at Engadine, around 9.15am on Sunday, following reports
of a multi-vehicle crash.
Several passengers inside the cars had allegedly suffered
stab wounds and a police officer was also injured.
One person suffered a cardiac arrest. A 40-year-old woman
is among several passengers who have been rushed to St George
Hospital.
Another patient suffered a stab wound to their abdomen while
a third suffered a broken arm.
The alleged knifeman, 55, was treated by paramedics at the
scene. He has since been taken into custody.

Wow - the UK a couple of weeks ago, then Germany
yesterday and now Sydney ... stab stab stab !!!
And don't forget the huge incident in an Aussie
shopping mall a few months back.
The UK and German attacks were basically "islamist"
in nature. This latest, unknown at this time.
Not-SO-mass stabbings are also rising fast, esp
in the UK, too oft with 10-12 year old killers.
It's straight out of 'Clockwork Orange'.
Seems all those "so-civilized" countries are going
all Mad Max - fast. Govts can try to ban guns, but
a "knife" is anything that is, or can be made,
sharp and pointy - no end to such things, it's
cave-man tech.
Stabbing is different, it's up-close and personal,
intended to be extra-painful and bloody. Stabbers
just HATE, they become the 'Hulk' and rampage.
Which brings us to ATTITUDE. Just WHY is everybody
out to stab everybody these days ? IMHO, it's the
crumbling of 'western civ' - the post-WW2 boom is
long over and promises of brighter futures can
no longer be realized. Everybody was brought up
to expect better ... just to have their faces
pushed into the mud. Reality sucks.
That makes a lot of people very angry and we're
seeing it more and more now, a sort of chain
reaction that's growing fast. I don't think
govts can fix it as they're part of the problem,
yet another agitating factor.
SOME of these angry people attach themselves
to extremists, but many others are just regular
Joes and Janes. They've been angry and frustrated
at a lot of things for a long time. Some little
catalyst and they just *snap* - and they'll be
killing and burning and running in mobs. You will
likely never trace exactly why, no ONE thing.
With the sharp decline in the sense of ethics,
'morality' and justice these days - what is there
inside these people to create pause and restraint ?
At least three gens now have raised their kids
to be entitled brats, all ego and id, no empathy
or sense of restraint or social responsibility.
Then we all wonder why the little monsters ACT
like monsters. "Just misunderstood ..." their
lawyers will say .....
I can't see any "fix" at this point, it's all
gone too far with too many. All you can do is
watch your backs and wait until the social
rage eventually burns out. That could be
awhile and there may not be a lot of infra-
structure left afterwards. None of this all
comes apart tomorrow, Rome was a long time
falling - it'll be a 25-50 year sort of thing.
